Bowler Trackrod Rally Yorkshire – What to Expect

For motorsport enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies alike, the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire is an event that demands attention. With a history that spans nearly six decades, it began as a club event for the Trackrod Motor Club, evolving over the years into a prominent fixture in the British Rally Championship. The rally has witnessed several changes in format and venues, but its commitment to delivering thrilling rally action has remained constant. Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Yorkshire, England, this rally has earned its place as a highlight in the motorsport calendar.

One of the unique aspects of the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire is its choice of routes through Yorkshire’s diverse landscapes providing a challenging canvas for rally drivers, with stages traversing everything from moorland and forests to country lanes and gravel tracks containing Special Stages on Forestry Commission land linked together by road sections on public and private roads.

Starting and finishing in Filey and taking in all single-use stages on gravel, the Trackrod will mark the only visit of the season to the classic Yorkshire Forest stages and as last year, the event will feature three key elements; Rally Yorkshire, Trackrod Forest and Trackrod Historic Cup Stages. Running over 57 stage miles, the Bowler Teams will compete in the Trackrod Historic Cup with no double usage of stages on Saturday and a 12-mile stage in Dalby in the darkness of Friday evening.

The Trackrod Rally Yorkshire has always attracted some of the best rally drivers from across the United Kingdom and beyond. With its status as a round of the British Rally Championship, competitors come well-prepared to tackle the demanding stages and vie for championship points. The rally also serves as a platform for young and emerging talents to showcase their skills, making it an event that combines experience and fresh talent.

For the Bowler Teams, this will be their third crack at gravel stages this year, so we hope to see them advancing their skills and stage times from this season’s previous events in Wales and pushing the Defenders that little bit more as they tackle the Yorkshire stages!
