Marketing, PR and Events Specialist - Bowler Motors

WHAT TO EXPECT

This position represents an exciting opportunity within the Bowler commercial  team as our Marketing, PR and Events Specialist:

  • Liaise with stakeholders and maximise use of all our traditional and digital channels
  • Coordinate event planning and activation with stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Lead the PR activation in conjunction with external agencies and JLR PR teams
  • Deliver the internal communications ensuring that all staff are kept informed with activities and successes
  • Manage the marketing plan ensuring that it is up to date and circulated across the business for management reviews
  • Attend our events and race activities to drive exceptional experiences for customers new and existing

You will report directly to the Bowler Commercial Manager but will work closely with the heads of departments, external agencies and appropriate departments within JLR our parent company. The role is varied, and you will be expected to build effective relationships to maximise opportunities and support our growth plans

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Marketing
    • Contribute to the development of and subsequent management of the tactical and strategic marketing plans
    • Identify the most appropriate marketing channels for optimal customer engagement.
    • Work closely with the sale and business development leads to identify and deliver integrated materials and products to support our growth plans
    • Build relationships with sponsors to maximise brand value
    • Drive awareness into global JLR Network
    • Drive new & relevant marketing opps (4 Ps)
    • Understand Bowler direction and help Develop Brand Guidelines
  • PR
  • Develop ongoing communications such as PR releases and supporting multimedia assets, maintain relationships with key media sources and influencers ensuring goals are met.
    • Coordinate activities with the PR teams and agencies to identify targeted contacts and plans
    • Identify and monitor all activity, organise PR events and drive PR presence
    • Cultivate strong relationships with media outlets and journalists to ensure efficient communication and maximum coverage.
    • Align the PR plans with the marketing plan and integrate activities
    • Maintain up to date list of press, journalists, influencers and media  contacts
  • Events
    • Support with planning and delivery of product launch and communications events
    • Engagement with Internal and External stakeholders to ensure pre-planning and clear direction is provided – at a detailed level.

 WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Experience of the PR industry
  • Experience with different forms of advertising and marketing such as Web, B2C sponsored content or search engine advertising
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate with press, marketing and events stakeholders
  • Superb written skills and experience of using it across multi discipline environments
  • Ability to create and maintain an editorial calendar
  • Experience of working with creative agencies – ability to provide clear direction
  • Solid organisational skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast passed motorsport business

Personal Profile:

  • Demonstrable experience in the marketing PR and events industry
  • Enthusiastic, energetic character who can motivate across the broader team
  • Creative and able to communicate new ideas
  • Able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work at weekends and antisocial hours when supporting events
  • High attention to detail
  • to be able to use a computer and the main software packages confidently

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Marketing, PR and Events industry
  • Ideally educated to degree level in relevant discipline, hold CIM qualifications or have extensive demonstrable experience
