Defender Challenge Round 5 Tempest Rally
Posted on 10 November 2015
The fifth round of the Defender Challenge saw the teams competing on the Tempest Rally stages in Aldershot, Hampshire.
Despite the tough weather conditions, the cars were driven flat out across the rutted and slippery tracks with all the teams trying to achieve the fastest times. Team Sturgess, with Edd Cobley driving and John Tomley navigating, went on to win the Defender Challenge Round by 1min 20sec over Team Lookers with Gareth Carruthers and Wallace McKay. The final podium position was closely contested by Team Northern Ireland, Team Palmer and The Defenderists, who traded places continuously until the final 2 stages, where Team Northern Ireland managed to find some extra speed to secure third place.
